Torn by Kit Zheng – review

Rating: 8.5/10 ★★★★★★★★½☆ Title: Torn
Author: Kit Zheng
Genre: Paranormal/werewolf erotic
URL: Torquere Press
Price: US$1.29
Other Information/warnings: Explicit m/m, interspecies sex, violence
Summary [from the publisher]:
Police officer Clayton leaves the big city force for a small town, where Halloween seems pretty boring. Even though it’s supposed to be his night off, Clayton is out and about, making sure no one causes trouble, and looking to feed his adrenaline need. Chief of Police Nick Gretzky might just be the man to give him what he needs, but will it cost him his life in return?

My review: When I sent the link for my review of Territory to the author, she very kindly sent me the first story in the series, Torn. I was very glad to see more of these characters and how they began. Actually, reading Torn as a prequel rather than before Territory works quite well. The twisted dynamic between Nick and Clayton has its origins in this first story, while we learn more about the birth of Clayton’s extreme masochism and need to be dominated.

It’s raunchy, tight, nasty and hot. Zheng loves her semi-bestial smut and does it with flair. It’s quite short, but packs a lot of plot and characterisation into it for all that. A good piece of well-written erotica, and I enjoyed it thoroughly.
